Writing Support for Graduate Students
The Teaching and Learning Commong Graduate (PhD/MA) Writing Services offers a variety of writing support to graduate students at UC San Diego. Our aim is to support your success and well-being, one writing project at a time! Our graduate services are offered in various modalities (in-person, hybrid, or remote). Wherever you are, on campus or not, we've still got you covered.
We offer the following writing services for graduate and professional students at the start of each academic quarter:
- Graduate Writing 1on1 Consultation Appointments: graduate students can bring their writing projects at any stage of the process for in-depth conversations on how to make progress and continue to develop their writing.
- Graduate Writing Circles: a dedicated time and space for graduate students to schedule writing time with their peers across campus. We follow the Pomodoro Method to include 3 blocks of writing twice a week for graduate students to write and advance their projects. Circles have light facilitation and check-ins on goals and intentions.
- Graduate Writing Retreats: 2 to 3 day intensive writing retreats with faciliation from one of our graduate writing consultant on writing topics and habits to explore graduate students' writing experience.

Graduate Writing Circles
A supportive and focused time and space for you to make progress on your writing projects; accountability building; and building community with graduate student writers across campus. We hope to provide and co-create this dedicated space through writing circles!
